Thanksgiving is the time of year to reflect on the people and things we are thankful for as well as to enjoy amazing food.
I am thankful for amazing friends and family that support me every day. I am thankful for a job that I truly enjoy because I am able to interact and help families make one of the most important financial decisions of their lives. Lastly, I am thankful for the ability to cook and share some of my favorite recipes that have been a part of my life and Thanksgiving meals.
The following are some of my favorite recipes that will be a great addition to your Thanksgiving menu.
Twice Baked Potatoes
Twice Baked Potatoes are great for Thanksgiving meals because you can prepare them in advance. I am all for traditional mashed potatoes, but sometimes it’s nice to change up the Thanksgiving meal with a twice baked potato.
Butterbeans
Butterbeans or Peas are a staple in my family’s meals. Whether it’s Thanksgiving or our Sunday dinner, you will always find a side of butterbeans or peas with rice. Another green bean option that is a favorite in my husband’s family is Green Beans tossed with Olive Oil and Red Wine Vinegar. These green beans have a delicious tangy zest that complement any dish.
Macaroni and Cheese
You can’t go wrong with Macaroni and Cheese at any meal but especially Thanksgiving. This recipe has only a few ingredients and is very easy to prepare.
Caramel Cake
Caramel Cake has been my grandmother’s “go-to” dessert for birthdays, church events, or holiday gatherings. I am thankful she has shared her recipe with me, and I plan on continuing this tradition. After all, this cake is “the best dessert I have ever tasted” according to my husband Rob.
Mini Pecan Pies (Tea Tassies)
Tea tassies are a traditional bite-size pecan pie. I guarantee that your guests will not be able to eat just one of these mouth-watering desserts. This recipe for tea tassies was my great aunt’s, and she would always make these for every holiday or church event.
